Summer in Edale: A Poem
Summer
In Edale's summer, where the heart lies still,
Among the whispering grasses, green and bright,
The valley breathes a warmth that softly fills
Each day with golden hues and endless light.
The paths are ribbons winding through the bloom,
Where wildflowers paint the air with colors bold,
And every breeze dispels the fleeting gloom,
A gentle tale of wonder to unfold.
The streams, like crystal laughter, weave their way,
Through meadows rich with life, through stone and fern,
Their music, a sweet hymn to mark the day,
As sun-kissed hills in quiet splendor turn.
Kinder Scout, beneath the azure sky,
Stands guardian to this timeless place,
Where skylarks sing and swallows dart on high,
In a ballet of effortless grace.
The booths of Edale, touched by summer's hand,
Hum with the joy of life, a season's cheer,
The warmth, a balm, spread gently o'er the land,
Embracing all, from far and near.
Evening falls, a canvas brushed with gold,
As twilight whispers secrets to the night,
The stars emerge, their stories to be told,
In Edale's summer, bathed in gentle light.
Here, hearts find peace, beneath the sky's embrace,
In every leaf and petal, joy is sown,
For summer in Edale, a cherished place,
Is where the soul finds solace, and feels at home.
