Winter in Edale: A Poem

Winter

In Edale's tranquil, wintry vale,

Where silence reigns and whispers pale,

The world, in white, does gently sleep,

As snowflakes through the air do sweep.

The heathered moors, now blanketed tight,

In winter's soft, yet fierce embrace,

Transform the hills to realms of light,

Each peak a monument to grace.

The brook, once lively, now doth rest,

Beneath a sheet of crystal ice,

Its murmured songs, a whispered jest,

That speaks of spring's forthcoming price.

Kinder Scout, in winter's shroud,

Stands solemn, steadfast, pure and proud,

Its rugged face in still repose,

Beneath the soft and silent snows.

The village sleeps, in quiet peace,

Each rooftop touched by winter's hand,

The world outside seems to cease,

A silent, tranquil, snowy land.

The stars above in frosty skies,

Like diamonds in the velvet night,

Reflect the sparkle in our eyes,

A symphony of silver light.

In Edale's winter, hearts find rest,

In nature's pure, untroubled breast,

A peaceful, calm, and quiet time,

Where silence sings a soothing rhyme.

So let the world outside take heed,

For in this snowy, quiet need,

Edale's heart, serene and fair,

Finds peace within the frosty air.
